Who We Are
GFWC Winterport Woman’s Club is one of 16 local clubs in Maine that are part of the international women’s volunteer service organization, General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC.) GFWC was founded in New York in 1890 and now includes over 2,300 clubs both nationally and internationally. It is the largest woman’s volunteer community service organization in the world! GFWC Winterport Woman’s Club was federated in 1932. 2026 marks our 94th year of continuous community service to the town of Winterport!
GFWC Motto
“Unity in Diversity”: despite diversity in ages, interests, talents, and personalities club women are united in their desire to improve their communities, themselves, and each other through volunteerism.
Our Objective
The objective of GFWC Winterport Woman’s Club is to connect club women through community volunteer service activities that will broaden their social contacts and be of mutual benefit to both members and the community.
